When the season changes, make sure you have the right tire
There are so many tire options! But don't worry - we can help! Finding the right tires for your vehicle and the season ahead is important to keep you safe on the road.
All-seasons
All-season tires give good grip in a wide range of weather conditions. They offer traction on dry roads, and their tread patterns are designed to provide decent traction on wet roads, light snow, and slush.
Winter tires
In Alberta, temperatures often drop below 7°C, so it's important to switch to winter tires. These specialized tires feature a unique tread pattern and remain pliable even at temperatures as low as -40°C, providing superior traction on icy, snowy, and slushy roads.
Performance tires
Performance tires, also called summer tires, are made to give excellent performance when cornering at high speeds in hot, dry, and warm wet weather. Do not drive on performance tires in cold weather or snowy conditions - they do not have the necessary traction.

Team Ford FAQ
Who makes Ford parts?
Genuine Ford parts are manufactured by Ford and Motorcraft.
What is the difference between genuine Ford parts and aftermarket parts?
Ford and Motorcraft make genuine parts for Fords. These last longer and fit perfectly. Aftermarket parts usually do not last as long or fit as well.
Is there a Ford parts shortage currently?
No, there are plenty of parts for most Fords At Team Ford, we stock plenty of genuine parts and can help you select the best ones for your car, truck, or SUV.
Is there a global supply chain issue?
Yes, some supply chain issues are still affecting the auto industry and some Ford vehicles continue to be impacted by the shortages. Our team at Team Ford will get the right part for your Ford and get you on the road very quickly again. Please call or email our Parts team to request the parts you need!
Will buying aftermaket parts void my Ford vehicle warranty?
Not always, but you need to do some research before buying and installing an aftermarket part. If these aftermarket products malfunction or adversely impact another part of your Ford vehicle, your New Vehicle Limited Warranty will automatically become void. The cost of repairs won't be covered by the warranty.
Are aftermarket parts covered by my insurance?
This depends on a few things, such as:
- Your insurance underwriter
- Your auto insurance
- Whether the aftermarket part replaced an original genuine part or was added as a vehicle enhancement.
If the aftermarket part replaced a genuine Ford part, please contact your insurance provider and ask if it will be covered.
What does it cost to replace a Ford part?
This depends on the part, because the number of parts in your vehicle is in the thousands, and they are all different. Some parts on an F-150 truck will cost more than parts on the Ford EcoSport or the Ford Escape SUV. Contact us for a quote on the part you need.
How long does it take Ford to deliver parts and accessories?
Almost all parts are in stock. If we don't have it in stock, it will usually ship in one to two business days. If there are any delays in shipping, we will update you and give you an approximate arrival time.
How much does it cost to replace a Ford tire?
A Ford replacement tire cost depends on:
- The model of Ford
- The trim level and tire size
- The tire brand you want
- Which tire type you currently have (ie. all-season, performance, or winter).
How long do Ford factory tires last?
This very much depends on how you drive, and the roads you drive on. However, usually, Ford tires are expected to last between four to five years or as long as 80,000 km.
Here are some of the things you can do to make your tires last longer
- Avoid taking off quickly, hard cornering, or sudden braking
- Inspect tires for damage and check their air pressure often
- Stay on top of tire maintenance and have the wheel alignment checked and tires rotated.
How often should I replace my tires?
If you cover between 20,000 to 24,000 km each year, your tires will last around three to five years. The life of your set can depend on the following:
- The number of kilometers you drive each calendar month
- How well you follow the scheduled Ford vehicle maintenance
- Your driving habits
- The driving conditions.
