Team Ford is a proud member of the Go Auto family, and a proud member of the Edmonton community. As such, we feel it is important to share in our success, and give back to our city. This is why Team Ford participates in Go Auto Gives Back, an initiative to help those less fortunate in our community.
Team Ford, through Go Gives Back, contributes to several charities and organizations focused on making life better for Edmontonians, and Canadians alike. Some of these charities includeRonald McDonald House Charities, Little Warriors, the Edmonton Food Bank, and many others.
One of the most exciting opportunities provided by the Go Gives Back program was its Random Acts of Kindness project. Based on the Random Acts of Kindness movement celebrated around the world on every Friday of February, Go Auto divvied up $1 million dollars amongst its employees for them to donate to a charity close to their heart. Go Auto staff were empowered to give back to their communities and see a difference where they live, embracing a philosophy of giving “hand to hand” and seeing the positive effect it had on their community.
This year’s initiative builds on the notion of giving “hand to hand” very literally. Go Auto’s Fuel the Schools program will have Team Ford and Go Auto employees going into classrooms throughout Edmonton and feeding the children—62,000 of them to be exact. Go Auto’s corporate chef, Bryan Dwernychuk, and his staff will cook meals delivered to the schools by Go Auto employees on a daily basis. These first lunches were delivered in Apriland by the end of the year the Go team, including Team Ford, will have delivered 62,000 meals to children in need.
Team Ford appreciates being a part of a company that believes in giving back. We take great joy in helping those around us and to see the results of our efforts in the community.
