No one epitomizes the idea of Team Ford as a family quite like General Manager Jamie Jasman. Maybe it’s because he came from a big family—six siblings in total—from the small and literally “stinky old Brooks, Alberta;” a town of 10,000 known best for its meat packing plant and contribution to Alberta’s oil industry. Maybe it’s because he now has a big family of his own, a wife, three daughters, and a couple of dogs. Or maybe it’s because he treats the near 200 people working at Team Ford like family. No matter the reason, it’s a lot of Christmas cards to write—but he wouldn’t have it any other way.
Shortly after moving to Edmonton, Jamie stumbled across a Ford store—and walked out with a job. That was in 2004. Since then, he’s spent his entire career with Ford, working his way up from the sales floor, to Leasing Manager, to Sales Manager, and then General Sales Manager, at which point he helped turn one of the smallest Ford stores in Edmonton to one of the largest in western Canada. Today, he spends his days as General Manager at Team Ford and his nights avoiding glitter in his beard, or having his fingernails painted, while spending time with his daughters.
But you won’t catch him complaining. In fact, he’ll tell you about the sacrifices his family has to make before mentioning his own. With that being said, there’s no shortage of people around the dealership who won’t sing his praises, and countless staff members who have followed him to Team Ford from other dealerships. Jamie is invested in Team Ford, and the experience they provide their customers. He believes that the true definition of a team is one where all members are of the same mindset and believe that they, the people, make a difference in the business–and all at Team Ford have bought in. This is good, because without having the right people in the right spots, Team Ford would not have experienced so much success. He fosters an environment where support, care, and respect for your colleagues and customers is the number one goal, because those are the basis for the type of teamwork that breeds the ideal team. A man of action, not content to just sit back in his office, you’ll find Jamie wherever help is needed. If that means the sales desk, he’s at the sales desk. If that means helping a customer in service, he’s helping a customer in service—you get the idea. And he truly believes that every new customer at Team Ford deserves to be treated like family as well. He really doesn’t mind writing more Christmas cards.
