The first thing you notice about Service Advisor Dennis Vallada is his infectious smile. Heck, it may even be the second and third thing you notice. Even when he tells you something serious like, “you could die if you don’t maintain your vehicle properly”—the big smile tells you he’s teasing, sort of. If we were to assign family members to the crew at Team Ford, Dennis would, undoubtedly, be the fun uncle.
At home, Dennis is a husband, father, and grandfather. But all of his kids’ friends call him ‘Tito,’ the word for uncle back home in the Philippines—especially when he’s manning the grill (which is an all-year task for the accomplished homecook). As happy to host as he is to help, the chance to do something hands-on and new every day in the kitchen is the same thing that attracted him to the automotive industry. Constantly learning new skills, Dennis is never bored when he’s at work.
Of course, when he’s not at work he likes to travel and stay active. Trips to the Philippines every other year are interspersed with vacations around the world to places like Italy or Germany or Mexico. Golf has supplanted basketball as his favourite activity, since it’s a little bit easier on the knees. Also, he’s admittedly a bit vertically-challenged to play centre like he did back home. You do get the feeling that, win or lose, he’ll have a big smile on his face when the game is done. Just one of the ways in which Tito, uhhh, we mean Dennis, contributes to the family atmosphere at Team Ford.
