    TRUCK
Exterior SUVs have a tall appearance, that often lends itself to the sporty side as well. Full size SUVs are often quite commanding, and can carry a great deal.  Trucks also have a fairly tall appearance, much like SUVs. The flatbed in the back provides a unique look, however, and there are many options available for customizing your truck
Capacity & Passengers SUVs have excellent passenger capacity.

In a full sized SUV you can carry up to 8 people, and many have modular seating that allow for transporting all manner and size of cargo. They also have better towing capacity than cars, but less than trucks.

Trucks usually have more limited seating than SUVs, with the exception of extended cab-trucks. They do have larger cargo space, with the capability of carrying recreation vehicles like dirt bikes and snowmobiles.
Fuel Economy Due to their size, power, and large fuel tanks, SUVs are not usually the most fuel efficient. If this is a concern, Ford does offer smaller, more fuel efficient models like the EcoSport. Due to their above average power, trucks tend to use a great deal of fuel, making fuel economy an issue. Ford does offer more fuel efficient 4-cylinder engines that retain the cargo space, but give up a bit in the way of power.
Weight & Height SUVs are taller and heavier than most other vehicles on the road. This allows for better visibility, but the higher center of gravity can lead to a bumpier ride. Trucks are on the taller end of the spectrum, alongside SUVs. Their difference lies in the back half of the vehicle; the flatbed of the truck lessens the weight of the vehicle, leading to greater torque.
Safety SUVs are built strong with sturdy frames. They often have AWD capabilities for easy handling on all types of terrain. As well, all vehicles at Team Ford can be outfitted with a variety of safety features. The height of a truck allows for better visibility of the road and other vehicles. 4-wheel drive, common among trucks, and the strong, sturdy frame, also add to a truck’s safety.
Engine & Performance Many SUVs are outfitted with larger engines which gives them greater power. Also, many Ford SUVs have the option for 4WD or AWD available which makes them

great for off-road and bumpy conditions. They do have limited towing capacity in comparison to trucks.

Trucks offer exceptional power, with the ability to use this power in all types of rugged terrain. Trucks have better towing capacity than SUVs, including the ability to tow heavy equipment. This of course depends on the truck; Ford’s 2018 Super Duty for example has a 6.7-liter V-8 diesel engine under its hood.
Costs SUVs tend to start at a higher price point, especially if you want to outfit one in 4WD; while full size SUVs are more expensive still. They do tend to offer more amenities, and can be quite luxurious. Trucks tend to start in the mid range for pricing, slightly above small SUVs. Of course, Team Ford can work within your budget to modify, customize, and get you the most powerful truck available.
Overview SUVs are great carrying people and cargo, on all roads in all conditions. There are also many available options, from performance-related to luxury add-ons. SUVs do have a higher cost of ownership and lower fuel efficiency, which may not appeal to all. But for safety, and passenger capabilities, SUVs are second to none. Trucks excel at tackling the daily rigour faced by hard working Albertans. Contractors, construction workers, landscapers, and anyone else who need power and cargo space, as well as off road capabilities will find that the right Ford truck will make their job easier. They are generally safer vehicles as well. Unfortunately they falter a bit when it comes to comfortable space for passengers, and due to their power they are not the most economic when it comes to fuel.

So, should you buy an SUV or a truck?

Your lifestyle and budget play a huge role in your decision to buy a new vehicle, and choosing one is never easy; especially when you are trying to choose between an SUV or truck, considering how similar they are. That’s where the experts at Team Ford come in. We will get to know you, and help you make the decision based on our expertise, knowledge, and experience. And don’t forget — we’re more than just trucks and SUVs. Here at Team Ford we have all types of vehicles to get you where you need to go, in comfort and in style.
