The Ford EcoSport is like your most comfortable pair of shoes. They may not be your fanciest shoes but they’re the pair that you can always count on. In this review I hope to convince you why I believe the EcoSport is like the vehicular equivalent of your favorite pair of shoes. From the well-designed interior, strong handling characteristics, and overall value, the EcoSport is a slam dunk for someone looking for a comfortable and reliable vehicle. The first thing I immediately noticed jumping into the EcoSport was its elegant and well-appointed interior. The buttons are well placed, and sturdy feeling with the leather wrapped steering wheel feeling as if it were pulled straight from a BMW.
The onboard infotainment system was on top of the center column and displayed information in a clear and concise manner. The seats were comfortable even for long trips across Alberta and the interior even included ambient lighting which is a feature that softly lights the cabin at night—a feature generally reserved for vehicles that cost twice as much. The driving experience did not disappoint either. The EcoSport soaked up bumps with the ease and the steering was sufficiently tight for a CUV with good road feel. My model was powered by a 2.0L TIVCT GDI 1 4-cylinder gas engine which was mated to an AWD 6 speed transmission. Ford’s AWD system really helped keep traction even in deep snow and I never got close to getting stuck once.
Lastly, the best part of the EcoSport is its value equation. With base models starting in the low 20K’s, you can get yourself a vehicle that drives and feels twice as expensive. The EcoSport gives you all the benefits of an SUV in the footprint (and cost) of a compact car. I strongly suggest you consider looking into an EcoSport if you are looking for an affordable SUV at a strong price. Like your favorite pair of shoes, the EcoSport will always get you to your destination comfortably—even in a snowstorm. Please visit Team Ford at 3304 91 St for more information or at teamford.ca
