Ford isn’t content with its current lineup of vehicles. Don’t misunderstand—I’m not trying to suggest they aren’t proud of the current lineup, or that they’re bad in any way. What I’m saying is Ford knows their vehicles, no matter how good, can always be better. A more stylish look, a more comfortable interior, better performance, more features, the latest in technologies—there’s always something to improve every model year. And sometimes, it isn’t just one thing that can be improved, it’s everything.
Take the 2020 Ford Explorer, for example. Ford has totally redesigned their flagship SUV from the ground up for the next model year. Because while you’re off enjoying your current adventures, Ford wants to be ready for your next one.
Starting on the inside, the stylish 2020 Explorer is designed to ensure being in your SUV becomes one of the best parts of your day. With dual-zone electronic automatic temperature control, to enhanced colour instrument panels, to the SYNC® 3 system, Ford has elevated the idea of what should come “standard” in your new vehicle. Some trim levels will come with a 10.1-inch Portrait Touchscreen—imagine something like a tablet computer in the middle of your dashboard, with similar swipe and pinch-to-zoom capabilities. The redesign even extends to what’s presented to the driver, with an available 12.3-inch customizable instrument cluster. Whatever information you need most on your drive can now be put right in front of you. While we’re talking about the interior, the 2020 Explorer has over 2,463 L of cargo space behind the first row, so you never have to leave anything behind. The available hands-free foot-activated liftgate makes for easy loading, and an available Cargo Management System helps you configure the interior space to suit your needs.
Ford didn’t just put all their work into the living space of the 2020 Explorer. The outside’s been given a newer, more athletic look. The redesigned front grille gives the SUV a rugged appearance, with a refined finish. As eye-catching as this new Explorer is, though, things get even more impressive under the hood. We’re aren’t kidding when we suggest this is Ford’s most powerful SUV to date. The standard turbocharged 2.3L engine will give you over 300 horsepower, and with the available Class III Trailer Tow Package, you’ll be able to haul over 5,000 lbs. If you need more power, you’ll also be able to opt for a twin-turbocharged 3.0L V6, with 365 horsepower, or the Explorer ST trim with a performance engine putting more than 400 horsepower in your hands. More concerned with fuel efficiency? Ford’s also rolling out an Explorer hybrid as part of the 2020 lineup, which can easily keep up with it’s non-hybrid cousins. The 3.3L V6 engine with electric motor will provide 318 horsepower, and is efficient enough to get as much as 800 kilometers out of a single tank of gas!
The 2020 Ford Explorer is expected to roll into Team Ford sometime this summer, starting at around $32,765. If you’d like to be among the first to know when it arrives, just fill out the form below and we’ll be in touch!
