The 2019 Ford Ranger at Team Ford
After a long hiatus, the Ford Ranger is back in North America for the 2019 model year. This Ford fan favourite handles your everyday commute, just as well as any off-road terrain you might encounter. Built Ford tough, the 2019 Ford Ranger is back with a vengeance, and will soon be available at Team Ford.
Built Ford Tough
The Ford Ranger, despite not being available in North America, has enjoyed great success as one of the top selling nameplates around the world. The new 2019 Ford Ranger for domestic markets will be similar to the European model in both size and frame, but that’s where the similarities end. A fully boxed frame made of high-strength steel, mounted with steel bumpers, bash-plates, and tow hooks, provides the basis for exceptional off-road performance. Monotube front dampers, and double A-arm front suspension, in addition to shock absorbers and leaf springs, provide stability for the Ranger’s solid rear axle. Ford’s use of aluminum isn’t limited to F-Series trucks, as it’s incorporated the lightweight alloy in the hood, front fenders, and tailgate of the 2019 Ford Ranger. Tested under the same exacting standards as other Ford trucks, the Ranger proves itself as more than qualified for the trail or the job site.
The 2019 Ford Ranger will offer two cab and bed options, with one wheelbase, one engine, and a choice between two and four-wheel drive options. The two door SuperCrew with the shorter bed, or the longer bed in the SuperCab, will all come standard with colour-matched metal trim wheel wells, or optional magnetic grey accents. A 2.3-litre, direct-injection four-cylinder engine with a twin-scroll turbocharger will utilize forged steel for its crank and rods, for extra durability. Electronically-assisted power-steering and Ford’s 10-speed automatic transmission will come standard, and the transmission will have three overdrive gears, to ensure maximum control on any road surface.
Off the Beaten Path
Leaving the concrete for off-road driving is where the 2019 Ford Ranger really shines, living up to the Ranger’s legacy. The Ranger comes standard with a DANA Trac-lok rear differential and open-front differential. Meanwhile, the four-wheel drive version receives a shift-on-the-fly two-speed transfer case. Step up to either the FX2 or FX4 off-road package, and you gain a DANA electronic-locking rear differential as well as other features. And while standard features like Adaptive Cruise Control, Lane Keep assistance, FordPass Connect, and BLIS are great for city and highway driving, the features found in the off-road package take the 2019 Ford Ranger’s off-road capabilities to another level. Upgraded tires with specially designed treads, a steel front bash plate in addition to reinforced, frame-mounted skid plates underneath the truck, off-road tuned shocks, and Ford’s Terrain Management System (first found on the Ford Raptor) create a truck with unlimited potential. Throw in Trail Control system, essentially cruise-control mixed with a hill-descent control system, and waterproof storage — and you’re ready for whatever the wild has in store.
Team Ford is extremely excited for the 2019 Ford Ranger to arrive at our dealership. Stay tuned for more about the Ranger, and fill out the form below if you’re interested about finding out when it’s available for purchase.
