2017 Ford GT Sneak Peek
The vehicle’s rear wing is built into the overall aerodynamic design of the fuselage, enhancing airflow without being deployed. After deployment, it even changes its shape to optimize airflow and increase performance even more. The buttress adds strength to the chassis to guide airflow over the car while reducing drag and managing airflow, all of which helps optimize the handling and performance of the vehicle. With a minimum ride height of 50mm, its aerodynamics and low center of gravity contribute to creating optimal performance on the track.
Ford’s benchmark 3.5L EcoBoost V6 Engine is one of the company’s greatest achievements in engineering—and its what’s powering the all-new 2017 Ford GT. A 7-speed, dual clutch manual transmission system with sequential shift controls helps keep you in control of its incredible speed and 600-plus horsepower. The 2017 Ford GT is also built with a teardrop-shaped carbon fibre body as the result of extensive wind-tunnel testing to ensure maximum performance.
Interior and Exterior Design
The 2017 Ford GT is aerodynamically optimized for speed and performance. The exterior is equipped with a carbon fibre passenger shell and body panels, along with aluminum substructures on the front and rear. The vehicle is also equipped with Gorilla Hybrid Glass® for the windscreen, backlight, and engine cover for clear viewing and strong protection against harsh driving conditions.
Other features include one-piece forged aluminum wheels, Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 Tires®, state-of-the-art LED headlamp with daytime running lamp design, and signature LED taillamps with integrated aero/heat extraction.
The incredible carbon fibre finishes and design are also incorporated into the interior of the 2017 Ford GT as well, such as a matte passenger cabin, fixed Sparco® seats, a pedal box with adjustable, lightweight black anodized aluminum pedals, and more. The racing-inspired stalkless steering wheel feels like you’re driving a professional racecar, while the integrated illuminated shift lights help indicate your selected gear.
